i want to decorate my boys bathroom with graffiti but they are only 4 and 5 so i do not want anything bad. i want to come up with some cool saying for the bathroom or pictures nothing too kiddy because it is going to stay this way, but i can't seem to find anything on the internet. i have found some neat graffiti material for the shower curtain so i am going from there. if anybody has any ideas or websites please share.
Graffiti is super easy using a site I found. I painted a nursery and did the Dr. Suess saying "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mild don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
The product is super easy to use, peel and stick, you can use their quotes they can customize your quotes and colors.
It is rightly said that 'good things come in small packages.' The glass beads may in small in size but they surely are appealing enough to be adorned in the necklaces of high minded and not simply high class people. They have been in use since the ancient times but have not lost their value even in the contemporary times.
Glass beads are very small pieces of glass with a hole in it. They are so small that the single glass bead is hard to be seen because focused attention is required for that. Many of them can be collected and put into a string to give a stunning look of a necklace. It is an art to play wisely with various colours, sizes and shapes of glass beads to make a wonderful adornment. A single bead here and there out of the whole string can completely ruin the look of the choker.
If we put on the lenses of anthropology, we will find that the history of Glass Beads dates long back to roman reign. The queens and kings of that period were indulged in these things to put on their royal time and again. Some other studies show how to make these beads in Mesopotamia and Caucasus region in 2340-2180 BC. Its history is rich enough to stretch to other countries as well like Mediterranean, Egypt and Venice. This beautiful culture has been put down by such countries and we are proud to receive it.
All these intricate designs are not specially made for jewelry purposes. Even curtains receive some of its beauty element. The interior decoration depends a lot upon it because it the colourful beads are, the attractive ad appealing the grace of the room will be. All these simple and minute things make the house a home. This difference is made evident by such polishes on the glass beads like pearl finish, Iridescent finish, metallic finish, greasy or oily finish and color lined finish.
The manufacturing of all these beads used in the stunning making of jewelry uses are in factories and cottage industries. These stones are also used in the collage of various jewelry designs. When they are put together with other gemstones and metal beads, they produce the most gleaming and the glittering pieces of jewelry.
The most common types of glass beads are Venetian, handmade, chevron, silver foil and alphabet. The fashion jewelry is given another level all together with the variety of glass beads offered by Dola International Trade.

When Nina Revskaya puts her remarkable jewelry collection up for auction, the former Bolshoi Ballet star finds herself overwhelmed by memories of her homeland, and of the events, both glorious and heartbreaking, that changed her life half a century earlier. It was in Russia that she discovered the magic of dance and fell in love, and where, faced with Stalinist aggression, a terrible discovery in...
“It’s beautiful,” I said, even though it wasn’t my style. It was cut glass and silver. Something a movie star might wear. Is this what my boy thought of me? I wondered as he fastened it around my neck. He called me Elizabeth Taylor and I laughed and laughed. I wore that necklace throughout the rest of the day. In spite of its garishness, I was surprised by how I felt: glamo...
Just got my first sewing machine! I'm so excited, but am unsure of what I need to get started on projects. I have the basic skills and a basic sewing kit, have done hand sewing and used a borrowed machine before, but those projects were really simple. I'm hoping to start sewing clothing for me and my family, as well as curtains and other home decor. I have a pattern board, but if I could get some tips about what else I need to start out, I would really appreciate it!
What do you have for a basic sewing book? You might look at Simplicity's Simply The Best Sewing Book, which has a fairly strong home dec bent. Try your library.
As far as must haves:
Tools: you'll need in addition to a sewing machine and needles for the machine, you'll need at least:
--Scissors: the sort called "bent trimmers", with the handle set to one side. Fiskars are a decent economy choice, but for not much more money you can get Kai, which is my favorite brand... well balanced and very, very sharp. This style: http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Sewing-… or this: http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Sewing-… or something like: http://www.kaiscissors.com/category.php?… You want the largest blade length you can open easily... for most women, it's about 9-10". The important thing is the scissors have to be sharp and stay sharp. The cleaner the cut, the easier the sewing.
--Seamripper (sometimes also called a frogstitcher -- "rip-it! rip-it!"). Buy a good one. I like the flat-handled white Clover rippers; some of the cheapies are snaggly, which is not helpful at all.
-- Pins. I like the yellow headed quilting pins for beginners. They're big and obvious and remind you not to sew over them. Cheapest at Walmart or when one of the chain stores has a sale on quilting supplies. Silk pins or dressmaker pins are the more conventional choice, but they hide better than the quilting pins do.
-- some method of containing the pins. My current favorite is a shallow bowl with a magnet out of a dead disk drive stuck on the bottom of the bowl. Pincushions work, too.
-- some method of marking fabric. The only thing I'll use, after a number of catastrophes over the years, are tailor tacks (which you do with needle and thread) or white tailor's chalk. Those are the two methods that have never let me down.
-- a packet of needles. Betweens and sharps are the standard choices, but I prefer embroidery needles. They're the same size as sharps, but have bigger eyes so they're easier to thread.
-- thimble. It's a good idea to learn to hand sew with a thimble, but no one is going to come after you if you don't. I like the leather "nimble thimbles", but there are a variety of styles.
-- a good iron. Black and Decker Classic is a decent budget choice.
-- pressing equipment. You can start out with a piece of plywood and an old towel and a length of muslin, but you'll probably want to upgrade to an ironing board (hang on to that plywood anyhow!), and you can use a hard-rolled towel for a lot of detail pressing that most people would do on a seam roll and tailor's ham. Add to that as you have funds a clapper (my favorite style has a built in point press, but a chunk of 2x4 you've sanded smooth will do, too), and seam roll (which can be a piece of unfinished wooden stair rail).
Good videos to ask for on interlibrary loan: Mary Roehr's Pressing to Perfection and Cecelia Podolak's Fearless Pressing. Good pressing can salvage mediocre sewing; poor pressing can make good sewing look bad. These are both aimed at garment pressing, but you can learn a lot from them.
-- a press cloth. You'll probably wind up with a number of them of different fabrics, but I'm going to suggest you start with a yard of 45" wide bleached muslin. Cut it in half along the crease, then cut one of the halves into two unequal pieces, about 1/3 and 2/3 yards x 22".
--A sense of humor. When you realize you just put that perfectly sewn sleeve into the dress inside out and backwards, it's the only thing that helps.

How To Kill Bed Bugs - Follow Five Steps To Success
Are you getting up in the morning to find itchy red welts or a rash on your arms, face, legs - any bare piece of flesh? Is it happening on a regular basis? Then there is a good chance you have bed bugs.
So, how do you kill bed bugs? Follow these 5 easy steps:
1. Check carefully that you really do have bed bugs - your bites may be the work of some other beasties who come out at night like for instance bird mites.
To be sure whether or not you have bed bugs you will have to do some detective work. Strip back the sheets etc. on your bed. If you have a bed bug infestation you will most definitely come across dark faecal marks, bed bug eggs - which look similar to a grain of rice and maybe even discarded bed bug skins. You could even find some live bugs. These tell tale signs are most often to be found in the folds and creases of the mattress, around buttons, handles and along the headboard.
If you detect any of these clues it's time to take action and kill bed bugs!
2. You will have to de-clutter and clean the WHOLE room - not just the bed. The bed bugs will lurk in any crack or crevice which is dark so you will see evidence of them in cracks or holes around floors and walls, in clocks, picture frames, smoke alarms, the folds of curtains and in furniture. Therefore to successfully kill bed bugs you should be both methodical and thorough.
As I have stated before get rid of clutter - anything you don't need bag it securely and bin it! For example books, magazines and newspapers. All clothing and bedding should be taken from the room in sealed plastic bags and laundered at as high a temperature as possible, alternatively place items in a tumble dryer on a high setting for around 10 minutes. For garments, curtains, carpets and soft furnishings which cannot be de-bugged in this way it is best to use a steam cleaner to kill the bed bugs.
3. The next stage to kill bed bugs is to use a vacuum cleaner. Vacuum the entire room including the bed, soft furnishings, furniture (remember to check drawers and closets.) Do this in a methodical manner and cover every inch of the room. REMEMBER empty your vacuum cleaner straight away into a plastic bag, seal it tight and dispose of it!
4. In the same methodical way repeat step 3 using a steam cleaner. These little vampires cannot stand heat so steam is an extremely effective way to kill bed bugs. It kills them off at all stages of development - even the eggs which is something that not all bed bug sprays can achieve.
If you do discover any cracks and crevices around floors and walls now is a good time to have them repaired.
5. This step is not always essential however I would recommend you take the time to do it - after all you have come this far!
Use a spray to kill bed bugs which may have escaped the vacuum cleaner or steam cleaner. Some of these can be toxic so be careful what you purchase. Something like Bed Bug Patrol works well and is totally safe around kids and pets.
An alternative would be to use something like fossil shell dust which can permeate the waxy skin of the bed bug thus dehydrating and killing it, or bed bug traps work well when attached to bed posts or furniture close to the bed. These work on the understanding that bed bugs are attracted to the carbon dioxide we exhale so as they climb to reach their nightly meal they become stuck in the sticky trap.
If you have an infestation which is very bad and in more than one room to kill bed bugs in this way will take a lot of time and effort because bear in mind you may have to repeat the whole cycle more than once before you kill all the bed bugs.
You could of course call in bed bug exterminators but this option may kill your bank balance as well as the bugs!
